NEW KEIGHLEY LAW FIRM OPENS DOORS ON MAYDAY

A new legal firm opens its doors on North Street, Keighley on the first of May, following a decision by the partners of Gordons Cranswick to close its office on Devonshire Street. The resident partners of that office, Howard Walker, Roger Armstrong and Martin Wood together with Senior Solicitor Julie Bridgman, believe that their clients could be better served by remaining in Keighley rather than transferring to Bradford or Leeds.

They have thus established their own firm to continue to provide legal services for the people of Keighley and surrounding areas. They have been supported in their decision by the majority of the other staff at the office, 7 of whom have decided to stay with the new practice, which will be called Armstrong Wood & Bridgman.

The decision to close the Devonshire Street office (many will remember the days of Wright & Wright) came as a major surprise to many but Howard, Roger, Martin and Julie are firmly of the view that their connections and loyalties are with the town of Keighley and its surrounding area.

As Martin Wood, Senior Partner of Armstrong Wood & Bridgman, states:

“It is our intention to continue to provide high quality but competitively priced legal services for both private and commercial clients. Should any client wish to retain their legal affairs in Keighley, we will be pleased to continue to offer the same high standard of service that our clients have come to expect. We will also be pleased to recover any legal documents that were entrusted to us, such as wills and deeds, which have now been moved to Bradford.”

The partners of Armstrong Wood & Bridgman have been encouraged by the strong support they have received from clients and the Keighley professional community. Lynne Green, Co-owner of local property agent, The Green Partnership, has worked closely with Martin Wood on many occasions over the years. She welcomes Armstrong Wood & Bridgman’s decision to remain in Keighley, saying:

“The business community in this town and surrounding districts needs to encompass a full range of services so we can conduct all our business on our own doorstep. Personally, I don’t have the time to travel into Leeds or Bradford every time I need a new contract drawing up. I also feel that an important element of local knowledge is missing when solicitors outside the area try to handle matters from a distance. I applaud Armstrong Wood & Bridgman’s commitment to local people and businesses.”

Armstrong Wood & Bridgman’s new offices at 12 North Street, Keighley have undergone substantial refurbishment and are close to the town’s shops, banks, estate agents, bus station and car parks.

Anyone who has any concerns over their legal affairs or the transfer of their documentation, should contact any of the partners at Armstrong Wood & Bridgman on 01535 613678 or mail@awblaw.co.uk
